Residential Training Facility Construction
Within a few months, Phase I of Cook’s residential training facility will be complete.
This facility will complement training received through Cook’s Academy of Customer Service by allowing students to practice performing their jobs in a realistic environment. Employees will be given the opportunity to inspect, graph and treat a building, under the supervision of a Cook’s training instructor.
Phase I will allow every student to experience as many different inspection and treatment scenarios as possible – slab, basement and crawlspace construction, a variety of exterior siding options, an assortment of crawlspace doors, foundation supports (piers) and foundation vents.
The interior of the facility will be shown in various stages of completion to help students understand how a structure is built and the ways termites and other pests can enter a home.
To make training as authentic as possible, the yard will include a deck, patio, lawn, furniture, swing set, sand box, storage building, dog house, small pond, various plants, bushes, flowers and trees.
Plans are for each training day to be equally divided between classroom instruction and practical application.
